LifeWays offers a number of community trainings by request. These trainings are available in-person and virtually and can be requested by filling out the form below.

A 2- or 3-hour training that reviews the stages of escalation and de-escalation and how to respond when an individual is in each stage. This training provides practical strategies and also reviews how to debrief after an incident has occurred.

This training provides an overview of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and dispels several myths around FASD. It also discusses identification of FASD throughout the lifespan, common mis-diagnosis and/or co-occurring diagnosis, prevention measures, interventions, and general tips and strategies to help empower and encourage those living with FASD.

A 2- or 4-hour training (can be broken into sessions) consisting of an overview of social and emotional wellness, identifying strengths and positive self-talk, identifying positive supports, and resilience and self-advocacy.

Identifying Risk Factors and Mitigating Sextortion’s Harmful Effects on Our Youth (Parent/Caregiver, Youth, or Combined): A 1-hour training that reviews how sextortion occurs, prevention strategies, warning signs, how to start a conversation with a youth or other youth about sextortion, and how to reach out for additional help.

A 1-hour training that discusses brain development and the impact social media can have, concerns related to social media use, and interventions to educate youth on the impact of social media

A 1-hour training that reviews what social media is and its basic functions, explores social media’s effect on how we communicate, discusses common online risks and how those can impact our safety, teaches how to protect our privacy online, and defines how we can find and engage in safe communities online.

A 1-hour training that reviews the components of effective suicide prevention, teaches how to perform a suicide risk assessment, and explores suicide postvention. Postvention is a response to suicide in a community and aims to promote healing and mitigate the negative effects of exposure to suicide.

A 1.5-hour training that defines trauma, describes the effects of trauma on a student, and teaches how to develop a trauma-informed approach in the school and classroom.

A 1-hour training that reviews personal freedom, what factors may affect our personal freedom, taking responsibility for the choices we make, and the benefits that come with taking responsibility and control of our own lives.
